Taking a different look in motivation Monday today.
A big question I get is “how do you stay so motivated?” And this picture really reminded me of my answer, “one day I just woke up and decided I didn’t want to feel like that anymore, or ever again. So I changed.”
The thing is – no one can want it for you. No one can make you do it. No one can control you. People can supply you with what you need – a trainer can give you the best workout ever, Autumn Calabresse can give you portion control in 7 easy to figure out containers, Shaun T can kick your ass into abs, a nutritionist can give you an entire meal plan, I can give you support and accountability.. You get the point. It all doesn’t matter though. You could have all the resources in the world, all the money in the world, all the opportunity in the world… It all doesn’t matter unless YOU apply it.
Isn’t that crazy? This year, these past three months, I’ve been working on surrendering myself and realizing only myself and God can control my life. I’m working on the God part, but once I realize I’m the one who can change – my health, job, happiness, you name it … My life changed. My outlook changed.
I was no longer holding myself down. I started to apply the tools I had. I stopped being the anchor in my life. You’re the only one who can get you to your goals. Hell yeah, life makes it hard. Yeah, time, work, kids, school- makes it hard. I get it. But you have to want to hit your goals as bad as you want to breathe.
You’re in control. The ball is in your court. What are you going to do with is? It’s Monday, it’s a new month, fresh slate. Let’s make it count.
